A 10-year love story
The Lingerie Emma team has been collaborating with Le Chaînon for 10 years now.
Le Chaînon is an organization that provides unconditional and non-judgmental assistance to women in difficulty, offering safe accommodation as well as support and guidance tailored to their needs, in addition to implementing a process that promotes a return to autonomy and personal and social empowerment.
This mission, which the organization has undertaken, particularly touches the Lingerie Emma team, who are keen to do their part to support women in need.
Donations that do good and change lives
Last April, part of the Lingerie Emma team visited Le Chaînon to donate 626 bras (including nursing and mastectomy bras), 350 panties, and a wide selection of bathrobes and nightwear, in all sizes.
These undergarments can then be given to women who visit the help center.
But that's not all! In addition to donating underwear, we—the Lingerie Emma team—also wanted to volunteer our time.
On that day, which will remain etched in our memory for a very long time, our team was also able to lend a hand on site.
We had the chance to spend the day with Claudette, who has dedicated herself body and soul to Le Chaînon for 35 years and is mainly in charge of the Emergency Wardrobe accessible to women.
The purpose of this Wardrobe is to equip women by providing them with all the basic items they need—boots, coats, bags, underwear.
We reclassified and organized the donations so that everything was easily identifiable. All donations made to the Le Chaînon store are sorted, and all basic items collected are sent to the Wardrobe for women.
Interesting fact: Le Chaînon's store generates 38% of the revenue, which is then reinvested mainly in housing for women.
Inspiring encounters on the agenda
On that day, we also met Lucie, a nonagenarian who has been working at Le Chaînon for over 70 years!
She started getting involved with this organization when she was in her twenties. She even worked with Yvonne Maisonneuve, the founder of Le Chaînon! A most inspiring encounter that left a mark on our team members.
Our entire team was then invited to dine at Le Chaînon, where we had the opportunity to meet the kitchen masters!
Feeding all employees and women staying at Le Chaînon is already not an easy task. Adapting to food donations is a whole other challenge.
Once food donations are collected, Le Chaînon staff create a menu and even plan a vegan option for all 3 meals of the day!
We ate very well; everything was delicious!
Like Grandma's house
At Le Chaînon, it felt like Grandma's house! It's a truly warm and inviting place where women can feel comfortable and safe.
In total, Lingerie Emma is proud to have donated nearly 1000 products this year alone, and over our ten years of collaboration, nearly 100,000 products have been donated to this organization, which is very dear to us.
The day was full of emotions, and we came away filled with gratitude and appreciation for Le Chaînon's staff, who truly make a difference in women's lives ❤️
